Translate Webpage Using Firefox’s Built-in Translator
The built-in web page translator is available for all versions of the Mozilla Firefox web browser. Whether you use the stable, nightly, developer, or the beta version of the browser, the translation feature is live. However, with the feature being live, one thing to note is that this feature is in its beta stage. Meaning, it is still in the testing stage and is yet to add support for more languages.
How to Use The Translation Feature on Firefox
Well, the best part about this translation tool for Mozilla Firefox is that you do not have to hunt for the option to use or enable it. By default, the translation tool will appear in the toolbar of the webpage that is any language other than English. But, if you want, you can also let the translation tool translate from English to your desired language.
In the example below, we will be translating the popular German tech blog – CHIP. The website is obviously in German. So, as soon as you visit the website, you will see a small translation icon at the right of the address bar. Click on it. The translation tool can auto-detect the language.
Simply click on the Translate To drop menu and select your desired language. In his example, we have selected English and you can see the results down below.
Do note that if your system language is set to English and you want to translate the webpage from English to some other language, the feature is not available, at least for now.

You can also easily download the language packs to your device, which helps in quick web page translation. Now, one should note that the built-in Firefox Translation tool is in beta, so there are not many languages that it can translate to and from right now. We hope these languages will be added in the foreseeable future.
Anyway, here are the steps that you can follow to download the language packs for your Firefox Web browser.
- First, click on the hamburger icon in the top right corner of the address bar.
- Now, click on the Settings option from the menu that pops up.
- Now scroll down a bit till you see the Translations option.
- You will now see a block with all the languages as well as the Install button next to it.
- Click on the install button for the language that you want for offline translation.
- If you want all the languages, click on Install All.
- Don’t want a language pack? Click on the Remove button to remove it from your Firefox web browser.
