Samsung has been testing the One UI 8 beta on the Galaxy S25 lineup. Just a few days back, the company unveiled the next generation of foldable phones with One UI 8 custom skin. The new software upgrade comes with a slew of new features, including all-new lock screen customization features.
One UI 8 comes with a new adaptive clock for the lock screen. This new clock is heavily customizable, and it also supports fluid animations. If you own the newly released foldable smartphone running on One UI 8.0, here’s how you can try out the new One UI 8 Adaptive clock on your device.
Tech enthusiast Alvin shared a video clip showing the new feature in action on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The new clock style is available in the customization page. This new clock style intelligently adapts to the wallpaper – automatically resizing and repositioning itself around recognized objects such as people, animals, or other supported elements.
In the below example, the alignment of the clock (HH:MM) adapts around the cat’s ears. You can change the font size and align the clock according to your preference. The feature is available on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. It was first spotted on the leaked internal One UI 8 beta on the Galaxy S25. The feature isn’t available for users who enrolled in the beta program.
If you own the Galaxy Z Fold 7 or Flip 7, you can navigate to Settings > Wallpaper and Style > Select Lock Screen > tap Wallpapers at the top left corner > choose your favorite wallpaper from the gallery > tap the clock > choose the new adaptive clock (which is animating) continuously.
You can change the font color and size if you want, and also align the clock as you wish. The new adaptive clock style looks amazing on the new foldable lineup. It is expected to be released soon for Galaxy S25 with the public release of One UI 8.
