How to get Galaxy Watch 8 watch faces on your older Galaxy Watch

Samsung has released the latest Galaxy Watch 8 lineup along with the seventh-generation foldable devices. As usual, the new Galaxy Watches brings some new watch faces. While these watch faces may be available for older Galaxy devices later, you can manually get them on your Galaxy Watch right now.

If you have an older Galaxy Watch running One UI Watch 6 or later, you can install Galaxy Watch 8 watch faces on it. This means you can get new watch faces on the Galaxy Watch 4 series, Watch 5 series, Watch 6 series, and the Watch 7 series. In this guide, I’ll walk you through how to get Galaxy Watch 8 watch faces on older Galaxy Watches.

The Galaxy Watch 8 lineup comes with various new watch faces including Circle Dashboard, Daily Dashboard, Dynamic Digits, Heritage Classic, Minimal Analogue, MInimal Digital, and Sporty Classic. All the new watch faces look great, and even if you don’t like all of them, you can simply install the ones you do.

Installing Galaxy Watch 8 watch faces on older Galaxy Watches is similarly to manually installing an app. It requires using adb commands through wireless debugging. There are two ways to install watch faces on Galaxy watches, one using a PC and the other using a smartphone.

Thanks to That Josh Guy for sharing the new watch faces apk that anyone with an eligible smartwatch can download and install. There are eight watch face apks available. First you need to download these apks, so here are the links to download the Galaxy Watch 8 watch faces.

Enable Wireless Debugging on your Galaxy Watch

First, you need to enable developer options followed by enabling WiFi debugging. The steps are quite similar to smartphones.

1. Connect your Galaxy Watch to WiFi network.
2. Now, open Settings on your Galaxy Watch and scroll down to the last and select About Watch option.
   
3. Next, navigate to Software Information and tap Software version seven times and you will get a message that developer mode turned on.
4. Go back to the Settings and scroll down to the last, you will find Developer Options, open it.
   
5. Now enable ADB debugging and Wireless debugging.

How to Install Galaxy Watch 8 Watch Faces on older Galaxy Watch [via Smartphone]

If you don’t have access to a PC or laptop, this method is for you. But if you have one, follow the PC method as you will find its process easier than the smartphone method. For this method you need a Smartphone, Galaxy Watch, and common Wi-Fi for both devices.

Pair your Galaxy Watch and Phone

1. Copy the downloaded apk files to your phone storage. Keep them in a new folder to locate them easily. Make sure your phone and watch are connected to the same Wi-Fi.
2. Now Install Bugjaegar ADB app from Play Store.
3. On your Galaxy Watch, go to Wireless debugging and tap on Pair new device. You will see the Pairing code along with ip address and port.
   
4. Now in the Bugjaeger app, tap on the +plug icon available on the right side.
5. Tap the Pair option in the pop-up which will open another pop-up.
   
6. Enter IP address, port, pairing code details in the Bugjaeger app and tap PAIR.

Install Watch Face APK on Galaxy Watch

1. Open the Bugjaegar app and tap the +plug icon. On your watch go to Wireless debugging page where you will see IP address and port.
2. Enter both IP address and port in the bugjaeger app and tap the Connect option.
   
3. Once the watch is connected, you can make changes. In the app, go to the tab with Up arrow.
4. Next, tap the + icon, and locate the apk. Wait for the watch face apk to install. Install all the apk one by one.
   

That’s it, Galaxy Watch 8 watch faces are now installed on your Galaxy Watch 4, Watch 5, Watch 6, or Watch 7. You can see the new watch faces in the downloaded section on your Watch as well as in the Wearable app on smartphone.

Install Galaxy Watch 8 watch faces on other Galaxy Watches [via PC]

The process of installing an apk like Galaxy Watch 8 watch face apk on your older Galaxy Watch is much easier than smartphone. You will need adb driver or google’s sdk platform folder.

1. Download and extract the platform tools on your PC. Then copy and paste all the apk files inside platform tools folder. For easy process, you can rename apks to simple names (eg. 1.apk, 2.apk).
2. Connect your PC and Galaxy Watch to same WiFi network.
3. Open platform tools folder, type CMD in the address bar of file manager and press enter. This will open CMD window in the required location.
   
4. Go to wireless debugging in developer options on your Galaxy watch. Then tap on Pair new device.
5. You will get ip address, port and pairing code details. Enter the following command in CMD:
   • adb pair ipaddress:port (eg. adb pair 192.168.1.6:35567)
6. It will ask for pairing code, enter the same pairing code mentioned in your watch. Your PC and Watch are now paired.
   
7. On the watch go back to wireless debugging and you will get ip address and port details. Enter the following command, but replace with details:
   • adb connect ipaddress:port
8. Now the watch is connected to install apks. Enter the mentioned command (make sure to change details):
   • adb -s “IP address” install filename.apk (eg. adb -s 192.168.1.6:20050 install 1.apk)
9. Wait for the installation. Once done, use the same command to install other apks.

After installing the Galaxy Watch 8 watch faces you can find them on your Watch or in the Wearable app on smartphone. If you’re unable to edit some elements of a new watch face in the Wearable app, then you can try in the Smartwatch and from the next time it will work on the app as well.
